Our Mission

At One Purpose Love, our mission is to build strong, informed, and connected communities by supporting the development of young people and amplifying untold stories through media, education, and creative expression. We believe that by equipping individuals with the skills and platforms to share their experiences, we can inspire action, foster economic and social growth, and create a future where every voice has power.

Through community-driven storytelling, journalism, and filmmaking, we ensure that history is documented, perspectives are heard, and meaningful change is ignited.

Why We Exist

Many communities across the country—especially in the Rust Belt and south suburbs of Chicago—have become news deserts, leaving residents disconnected from the information that impacts their daily lives. At the same time, young creatives struggle to find platforms to share their stories, while critical local issues go unreported.

That’s where One Purpose Love comes in.

We equip residents, young storytellers, and aspiring journalists with the skills and platforms needed to document history, investigate issues, and advocate for change through media.

Through Genesis Legacy News and our Film & News Initiative, we are:

Revitalizing Local News – Training community journalists to report on the stories that matter in underserved neighborhoods.
Empowering Filmmakers & Creators – Providing hands-on education in filmmaking, documentary production, and digital media.
Connecting Communities to Resources – Ensuring that storytelling leads to solutions, not just headlines.
Building Sustainable Media Hubs – Creating spaces where local creatives can collaborate, learn, and launch impactful projects.

Our Vision: 2025–2030

Over the next five years, we aim to:

Train at least 100 young journalists and storytellers to strengthen local news coverage.
Launch community newsrooms in more underserved neighborhoods to fill the gap in hyperlocal reporting.
Expand our documentary and short film production programs to give young creatives a platform to tell important stories.
Establish a fully-equipped media and production space where local journalists, filmmakers, and creatives can collaborate and produce impactful content.
Partner with schools, libraries, and community organizations to make media education more accessible.

These goals aren’t just ambitions—they are commitments. Every story told, every individual trained, and every partnership built moves us closer to a future where communities control their own narratives.
